Becoming a member of TAG:
The Aphrodite Group (TAG) is located in Rochester, NY. Because we are committed to confidentiality and the safety of our members and guests, our location is only given out to vetted members.
There are several ways to become a vetted member.
- Come to a social event.
- Private meet and greet.
- Skype.
The easiest way to be vetted, and to meet other people in the community, is to come to one of our social events. These events (labelled as a “Social” or “Coffee Clutch”) give us a chance to meet with you and see how you fit in and interact with our group.
We understand people have busy schedules or social anxiety. If you are unable to attend one of these events, we can try to arrange for one of our leaders or long-term members to meet with you in a public setting or via Skype. We would prefer to meet you in-person, and we would prefer to limit Skype to people who are outside of the Rochester area. Please contact us to set up an online time to meet!
Socials
Socials take place at a bar or restaurant. We try to schedule at least two each month, one on the first Friday of the month, and one (usually) on the third Thursday. If you like a larger crowd, you’ll probably prefer the Friday social. If you like a smaller crowd, you’ll probably prefer the Thursday social.
At a social there is a lot of socializing and networking going on. Many people are drinking, chatting and just getting to know new people or talking with friends.
Once there, several community leaders will welcome you and get to know you. Don’t be afraid to ask questions. This is an important step to see if we are a good fit. We will ask you to fill out a information card. We will use this information to learn more about you, assign you a membership ID, and reach out to you if we have further questions or information.
It can be difficult to not know anyone, but remember that we were all new once and know what that’s like. Our members are welcoming so feel free to introduce yourself. If you are feeling shy, ask a leader to introduce you to others. We will be happy to do so.
Sometimes having a friend to meet you and walk in with you is helpful. Reach out to the leadership, send us a message, chat with us. We are more than happy to establish a rapport online before one of our events so that you have someone that you can feel comfortable around.
One-on-one meetings:
Choose a location and time and we will arrange one of our trusted members to meet with you one-on-one. For those who aren’t comfortable with social settings or have a difficult time getting to the socials, this is a great option!
Play Parties
The first time at fetish event/party can be intimidating, but we hope you’ll find our location warm and inviting. When you arrive at the facility, enter and get checked in at our reception station. There will be some paperwork to sign, but not much, and you’ll be given a tour of the facility. After that, you’re free to play, socialize, attend a class (if available at the time), or even read a book from our fetish library!
It’s important to remember that we all were you in the beginning. It takes that first rush of courage to walk through the doors to meet like-minded people. Like most people, you will end your night thinking, “why did I wait so long.” TAG is all about the members, all about our people, and your comfort is priority one. We hope to see you soon!
